Decision: Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head?

Actually, no, I am not at Aaron's 'cause, yes, that has happen a lot at his house. I am asleep on the couch in the apartment. I feel 'raindrops' on my forehead and I remember thinking for a brief moment that Aaron's ceiling was leaking. Then I remembered that I am not at MC (Michigan Center) I am in Adrian. I turn my head to see 'the cat' on the fish tank. I slap the arm of the couch and yell "hey". The cat goes up the wall, pushes off, flips threw the air, and takes off like a shot. It was worth being woke up sprinkled with water to see that! (giggles)
Let's go back to a couple days ago when I returned to Adrian from my weekend in MC and rural Onsted. There was a note: We have a cat now, so don't be 'freaked out' if you see it. Then yesterday I did see him....sitting on the floor looking at me like 'Who are you?' My thoughts exactly...who are you, too? 'I am Aunt Marlys' I offer...then he went from looking curious to puzzled. So, I still didn't know the name but at least now I had a face.
So now, back to the 'raindrops': without knowing his name I have to call him 'hey'. It turns out I was on the right track. His nickname is "H" and his full name is Horatio Cane. Ok, so that could be why he likes water, and asks probing questions, and is skittish?.....well that part I am not sure about. But, taking his picture, I learned a bit about the real Horatio Cane and why he wears those sun glasses.....I took 5 pictures of this cat and could only get one (no matter how many settings I changed on my camera).....could only get one that didn't show his eyes as glowing and that was because he turned his head. So now we know that the famous "H" is really an alien (and not the kind that comes up from Cuba)!

Decision: Gotta Get That Snow Out of There Somehow!

Aaron spent Thanksgiving Day sleeping to try to get well enough to visit Grandma and work on his house next week. This is the latest picture of the back of the house. Notice the second story has a 'door' now. Aaron's explanation: 'I had to have some way to get rid of that four inches of snow!......easily' His hope is to get the roof on next week so he won't have to shovel anymore snow from the second story. Notice that 'snowy Michigan sky'.

Decision: The 'Other' White Meat

Happy Thanksgiving!
Here we are at the 'abbreviated' Thanksgiving Day Dinner table. Phil and Mary are home waiting for Joshua to arrive and Ruth and Terry are having dinner for their family at their new 'digs'. Aaron is sick and trying to get well enough to come see Grandma.
Our menu: Roast Pork Loin, homemade mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli. For dessert: Pretzel Salad, Key Lime Pie (the five minute kind), and Pumpkin Pie (Mary made it from scratch....the proof.....just look in her laundry at the pumpkin spattered on her white Tee shirt! Thanks for the sacrifice Mary). YUM, YUM!

Decision: You've Come A Long Way Baby Boy!

Can you believe it! This picture was taken two years ago today:

Scroll down and look what's happened since then:
This picture was taken June 1, 2008 and then..........

This picture was taken October 4, 2008 and then.......
This picture was taken October 13, 2008...just keeps getting better and better! However, some things do remain the same.....the fir tree, the big rock....the 'footprint' of the original house.....! Now tell me again Aaron, which room is mine? The kitchen? HA!.....that's very funny, 'boy' ! Well, happy anniversary on a fine looking place. Can't wait to see what's gonna happen next...there is still another whole story to go (not to mention windows, doors, inside walls, heat and electricity....just minor stuff like that)!

Decision: Put Them Out and See IF Anybody Bites

Know what's the best thing ever about this picture? (Well, besides after I took it I ate them ALL!) ......they are chewy! Know why they are chewy? Because I have had them since forever. I remember I used to keep that bag of mini Tootsie Roll Pops on top of my refrigerator when I lived on COMPANY STREET. That's right, two moves ago!
So I ran across this bag a couple days ago and thought....I wonder if those 'boys' at work would notice they are 'old'? No matter, I don't think they even care as long as it hits-the-spot when they eat it.....giggles. I was right; even my boss, Ed, was thrilled after he had the first one and found out they were chewy!
Don't have to worry about 'softening' the outside 'candy shell' on these pops.....I did that for you! Yum Yum!

Decision: Sequel to Holes Filmed Here?

Aaron is making progress on his new house? That is the sixty-four thousand dollar question! This weekend it looked like the stage of the filming of the next sequel of 'Holes' (for those of you who have seen the movie, you will know what I mean).

Decision: Look to the Horizon?

Today I took this awesome picture of Ethan.
First of all, I was weak-in-the-knees preparing to take it because I had to watch him climbing to the tippy-top of the pile of rocks and, despite his teetering to get there, he looks remarkably calm. Then, I was overcome at how breathing this shot turned out.
Ethan reminds me of his Daddy more and more every day.....gotta love both 'them boys'!
